Possible Sweden/Norway/Denmark Itinerary
My partner and I are considering a trip from Australia to those locations next August with our son who will be 15 months old then.
We are planning to fly into Copenhagen and spend 7 nights there, then travel to Malmo to spend 3 nights with friends. We will see them when in both areas!
We will then jump on a train from Malmo to Gothenberg where we will spend 3 nights.
Do we then go to Oslo or Stockholm or the other way around? What can we do in each place & how long should we stay?
We are going to use Air Bnb whilst over there. Anyone have some places they would recommend?
Any hints or any tips for any of these locations would be amazing!

With 7 nights in Copenhagen, you could easily see your friends in Malmo without having to spend another 3 nights in Malmo itself, unless you want to. They are really close by.
7 nights in Copenhagen is about right, since there are many things to see and do in and around Copenhagen and sjælland generally.
Is there something in particular you want to see in Gothenburg? If not, I would skip it and go to Stockholm from either Malmo or Copenhagen (take a trip on the ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki to see the archipelago) and Oslo. Gothenburg also has an archipelago.

If you cut down the 10 days in the Copenhagen area and put a few days into Norway you can do the fantastic Norway in a Nutshell extravaganza from Bergen, which is also one of the nicest cities I've seen in Scandianvia - an ancient Hanseatic port with rows of old wooden buildings in its centre, etc.
Norway in a Nutshell involves a two-hour boat ride on Norway's largest and perhaps most gorgeous fjord - a mountain bus ride and thrilling mountain train ride - it is best done as a whole day out fron Bergen.
In any case look into the ScanRail Pass with that much train travel as previsioned - great sites for info on Scan trains and Nutshell, etc I always spotlight these IMO superb sites: www.budgeteuropetravel.com; www.ricksteves.com and www.seat61.com. Norway in Nutshell official site: www.norwaynutshell.com. You buy a combined ticket in Bergen valid on trains, bus, boat - just show up - an individually done thing and easily done. And the fjord is stupendous - we saw some whales!
