Positano Surprise

My husband and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversay in Positano this September. I would like to surprise him with a special day including dinner. Can you suggest where we can go that will be memorable? We will have a car so anywhere "nearby" will work as well.

Don Alfonso might be further than you would care to drive.

Don Alfonso is lovely, but I would not want to drive back to Positano after dinner there. Frankly, I would not want to drive back to Positno after dinner anywhere on the AC. You could take a taxi to Hotel Il San Pietro, have cocktails on the amazing terrace during sunset, then dinner at the lovely restaurant, then take a taxi back to Positano.

I hope you are ready for lots of traffic and limited (and expensive) parking with your rental car in September.

Hey M,

Have you arranged for parking in or near Positano?

A night on Capri?

I LOVE Ira's suggestion!!!!

a NIGHT IN CAPRI would be fabulous, romantic, and special. BOOK A HOTEL & enjoy Capri when all the day trippers are gone...ferry leaves directly from Positano.

La Sponda at Le Sirenuse is beautiful with an incredible view and wonderful service, if Capri doesn't work out. The hotel bar and also Franco's Bar just outside the hotel but owned by LS also has lovely views with great Champagne choices by the glass (or bottle). The hotel bar is better to me and they also have dinner service at the hotel Champagne and Oyster bar...all with great views. September is a great time to be there! Enjoy.

YES!!!! If you can't "make a night in Capri happen" La Sponda is certainly very special and La Sirenuse ....It is perfect for a special romantic diner. I was only there in season, but you may want to book dinner reservations early just to be sure.

The views are very dramatic. Love Love Love the Amalfi Coast!

Well if you want to do an overnight, then I would overnight at Don Alfonso. Get there early enough so you can enjoy the grounds and the lovely pool, then dinner and overnight at a charming hotel, breakfast in bed then back to Positano!

This is a wonderful thread! I just reached out to Le Vigne de Raito to set up a tour and lunch - sounds divine.
