portugal: Getting from Lisbon to Ericeira

I am trying to find the best way to get from Lisbon to Ericeira. i heard you can take a train to Sintra then a bus into Ericeira. Is that true? any info would be appreciated.

Yes, I believe it is possible to reach Ericeira from Sintra but the best way is to take the express bus from Lisbon. It departs from a terminal in an area called Campo Grande, reached by metro (green or yellow line). You buy tickets from the driver. Several buses line up outside, just check the signs next to the buses for "Ericeira".
Enjoy you trip!

We're just back from Ericeira (loved it btw). A bus runs directly from the Campo Grande bus station. Just leave the metro station and look out for the "Mafrense" bus stops. Their website seems to be down at the moment. There are about three express buses daily, and other slower buses run about hourly. Avoid travelling between 12.30pm and 2.30pm - there are few if any buses at that time.

I really would have doubts about transporting the surfboard though - we caught the bus on a Sunday and it was packed. The baggage hold was quite small.

An option might be for your accommodation in Ericeira to organise a taxi from Lisbon.
