Poland Re-Erects Wall to Keep Germans Out
Way up on the North Sea where Germany and Poland currently border there was a wall that separated two popular beaches - one in each country.
But when Poland fully joined the EU the wall came down... for a while until German nudists started ambling over to the Polish beach.
Whilst in Germany it is not uncommon IME to see naked folks prancing around public parks (like the Englischer Gardens in Munich where on a nice day i've seen literally hundreds of naked bodies lying about, even right next to the walking paths - i also saw that in Berlin at the Wansee beaches.
so why Germans pranced around au naturel on their part of the North Sea beach on the Polish side things had always been more modest - until the Wall fell and the nude Germans started coming over, raising local moral hackles.
Thus, recently the Wall that had been torn down has been rebuilt, reportedly.
A Wall to protect Polish morals from those hedonist Germans.

hi pal,
first grannies frying on the railways, now polish wall building -are you having a dull day?
i know i am - the weather here is vile and much more like november than august.
England v Scotland cricket isn't improving it much - rain stopped play.
hoping for better soon,
regards, ann

annhig - no not a dull day - my French son's French mother is staying for 3 weeks and things between Mum and son's 'so American' girlfriend have deteriorated and periodically getting at odds. So i take refuge in the basement and the computer. Cheers

Hi Pal,
i know what you mean. I've been known to find "work" to do on the computer to escape the rellies as well.
Scotland did very well [comparatively] in the recent cricket world cup, which may be why they've been granted the honour of a match against the might of England. several scots have played for england and one, Mike Deness, was england captain.
they are now pressing for test status but I'm not sure how many suitable grounds they've got. and the weather might not be condusive -but then, ours isn't either.
regards, ann

But PalQ, one thing everybody should know is that there is no border on the North Sea between Germany and Poland ;-) and the Danish are ripping off their clothes faster than any German can say "Ahhh". ;-)
Anyway, not too much stress today at home...
