Poland (Krakow)/ Prague from Leipzig

Hello All,

Im Nitish from India and am attending an International Conference in Leipzig, Germany during end of November (Winter) along with my wife. we were thinking of doing either Prague or Poland. My queries are as below :

- As part of my conference package, i am getting a one day-day tour to Prague (Free) Is it OK . or should i do a separate 2 day trip to Prague. Because of budget issues, i am contemplating whether to do Poland or Prague

- If i do poland after my conference, is three days OK. what are the things i can cover. Both of us would like to explore the culture and history. I think Krakow should be fine or should i add another city ?

- Pls suggest some budget stay options with breakfast.

Thanks a Ton.

Warm regards,

Nitish

IMO, Prague and Krakow both easily deserve 4 of more days. I recommend that you get some good guidebooks (or spend some time with a few in your local library), identify the things you most want to see in each location, note their opening/closing times, and mark them on a calendar. Then pencil in your transportation, add some time on either side (for getting to/from the train/bus station or whatever, checking in/out, packing/unpacking, getting oriented, etc.). Then see how things fit together.

Both are lovely!

In 3 days in Krakow you can see:

- Wawel Castle
- Salt Mine
- Kazimierz and Podgorze (Synagogues, Krakow Under the Occupation Museum, Ghetto Heroes Square, Pharmacy Under the Eagle)
- Cloth Hall Excavations
- Several churches in the Rynek Glowny area

Oops -- when I said each city easily deserves 4 or more days, I meant to add, "but you can see many of the highlights if you have only 3 days." Sorry for any confusion!

Getting to Krakow from Leipzig without flying is very time-consuming. If you have limited time and budget, I'd definitely spend the whole time in Prague.
