I want to take Mrs Bilbo on a ten day bike ride through the lower Po valley in September this year. We intend to fly into Venice (with bikes) and catch a regionale train from the station at Mestre to Ferrara. Then we have 8 days to ride the various bike paths around the cities. Assuming that we might stay in one B&B/hotel for a couple of nights and all the rest for just one night and on average we ride 45km a day at best, what are the key things we should see/do in
Ferrara
Bologna
Ravenna
Modena
Mantova
Special places within this part of the Po valley?
We have visited Verona, Padua and the northern Po before and assume Venice will be covered on the way home.
Any great places to stay? We tend towards 3 star and below (a bike park and a flat bed normally does) and love B&Bs.
