Plitvice Lake -Croatia

Jump to last reply

We are 4 couples driving from Istria wanting to spend a day at the Park. We need to end up in Split the next day to board our gulet. We were wondering if after spending the day in the park , it was feasible to drive to Split? It would be late May, probably somewhat in the dark. Are the roads from the Park to SPlit easily navigable? OR are we better off staying at park area and leaving the next morning. IT appears the drive is about 31/2 hours. I would also like
thoughts on a possible halfway point to stop overnight?

Also, any help on accommodations in or near the park would would be appreciated. It seems to have a multiitude of guesthouses, difficult to tell the differences- any thoughts on any great ones or ones to avoid??
Thanks
Michelezr
