Please help w/Madrid Apartment Choice -Kimhe & others

Spending 6 nights in Madrid for first time visit and thought I wanted to be somewhere between Plaza Mayor and Santa Ana Plaza to be near the action. I have found a few a little north of there and wonder what everyone thinks about location. Us 2 parents and two boys 18 & 20 who will probably go out at night.

It seems like we're a little late and many good Apt's are booked. Any suggestions for areas and Apt's are appreciated. I've listed three that sound interesting. Kimhe if you are out there, thank you for your Barca help!!

Hi,

I think location wise they're all fine. The one in Calle Mayor I would ask how well insulated are the windows as that's a pretty busy street. You dont mention what month you're going. If in the summer make sure you have A/C!

In Spain Select there's an apt in the Cortes area called "Leon". I really like that area, its very close to Plaza Santa Ana and the Museums area. Not far to walk to Plaza Mayor, probably 15 mins.

Flipkey is a TA owned operation, which means that they are only acting as a broker. Spain Select owns most of their properties and has control over the other ones they offer. Just based on that, Spain Select will always be the better option.

The apartment you're considering does have A/C and the windows should be insulated against the noise, but you can always send them an email to make sure. As curiseluv says, you'll need them to cut down on the street noise.

Calle Mayor is NOT facing the street...we stayed in the unit in 2007.
I think it is too small for your family (the second bedroom is, anyway)
Take a look at other apts. offered by SS

All are great location, but I would perhaps have prefered n 2 or 3. Good for lots of reasons, but both - and especially n. 3 - is next door to one of my favourite local, traditional and affordable Madrid restaurants, Casa Marta. Popular with locals before or after the Opera:

Thank you all, this is harder than I suspected, almost all Spain-Select Apt's are booked except for the Calle Mayor i that I listed. (looking for later May)

I've tried Flipkey, VRBO and a few other sites. danon- I'm curious about a review for the Calle Mayor i, it might be the best choice I have. Second bdrm does look small but I think we can deal with it but was it there alot of street noise and were there any other problems?
Any other suggestions are appreciated, thanks
