We are planning a trip to Norway in September. We are looking at the 'Norway in a Nutshell' tour and would like to stop over at one of the towns on the way for a couple of nights. My question is if anyone can recommend what is the best place overall for stopping: Flam, Voss or Stalheim? Best will be defined by beauty, interest and overall.
Thanks
Please help with stayover on NIN trip from Oslo to Bergen

I thought NIN was the logo for the rock group Nine Inch Nails and that you were groupies following a concert tour. Seriously.
Sorry I can't help with Norway.
We stayed in Voss for 2 nights last April. It was a small, but nice town. We stayed at Fleischer's Hotel, which was across from a lovely lake. We were there to do NIN, so it worked perfectly.

We were there during Easter, so the town was pretty quiet with most places closed, but it was nice nonetheless. We bought a Fjord Pass and it saved us a few $$, which was a welcomed thing as it was so very expensive in Norway.

We stayed at the Stalheim and enjoyed the setting and a very unique experience, since we were the only guests on opening day in what is usually a very congested hotel.
The breathtaking view from the Stalheim is a most dramatic one (not for the acrophobic!). We stopped there but only for a short visit, then went on to Bergen and spent the extra day there. We did not find that going all the way in one day (Oslo-Bergen)as tiring at all and found Bergen to be a city very much worthwhile of extra time. Enjoy the magnificent trip. Be sure to watch for the Lady in Red while on the Flam train ride. (it stops for a few minutes at that point).
Thanks to everyone that responded, it is great help. I think we will stay at Stalheimer and will let you know when coming back.
Flåm is also great.
