Please Help me Pick Barcelona Apartment!
Need advise on a Barca Apt. Spending 5 nights and (thinking) I want to be in Born or near La Rambla. I have read about street noise at many locations making it difficult to sleep but maybe that's the price to pay for a good city location.
Wifey and me and 18 and 20yr old sons, they may be out to all hours but we'll need sleep at some point. Also these apt's seem pretty close to each other but does anyone see why one location is better. Thank you in advance!! Vacaman

All have got a good location, but I would go for apt 1, 3 or 4. 1 is in wonderful El Born, and it seems to be the necessary two hundred meters away from Passeig del Born with bars and cafés long into the night.
N. 3 is just off lively and central Plaza Reial, very close to Las Ramblas etc. Perhaps a bit more touristy feel here.
N. 4 is just off busy Via Layetana, very close to El Born and not in the midst of the center of the quite touristy Gothic quarter. Will perhaps give the strongest feeling of actually living here.
N. 3 is also fine, but for me it's too close to extremely touristy Las Ramblas, and it's on the edge of the very diverse and nice but also slightly seedy Raval area.
If pushed, I would have chosen n. 4 with n. 2 as a very good runner up.

Sorry, a couple of errors with the numbers in my first post. I post it again with the correct numbers:

Kimhe- Thank you for your great response! I just rec'd notice that #4 is no longer available so I'm going for #1.
I'm going to post the same question about locations for Madrid, might you have any suggestions? I fould a few Apt's in the La Latina area but on Google Earth the buildins looked a little rough, quite a bit of grafitti, etc. Any suggestions would be further appreciated. Thanks Again!!

Lots of nice and central neighbourhoods in Madrid, but if you want to be really centrally located in the heart of Madrid La Latina would be fine, so would the area around Plaza Mayor, Calle Mayor and Huertas/Barrio de Las Letras.

I haven't been to Barcelona so I can't comment but I have booked for this year in El Born with this company

and they have been amazing! The communication is brilliant and I found them through another Fodor thread/recommendation.
Good luck!
