Planning a trip to Madrid and Andalusia in the spring; weather question

My husband and I love to travel. We have been to France, Italy, Turkey, Portugal and some other areas. We want to see Spain this spring.
We thought we would go to Madrid, see places like Seville, Granada, Cordoba. I will be doing some research but my first question is: our schedule permits mid-May as the most easy time. However, is the weather usually better if we wait until the end of May to go?

It will grow warmer as spring becomes summer, so choose accordingly. We always find early to mid-spring to be fairly comfortable.

Any decent guide book should give you good information about the climate. I would recommend that you get yourself at least one (if not more) or consult them at your local library. You will learn things you never even knew to ask!

I bet someone will point you to a weather history website. The problem with them is they give no predictions.
Weather is notoriously unpredictable, even the forecast for the coming 3 days can change during the day.

The PP has an excellent point...
The long range forecast for our mid. Oct. trip to Madrid and Seville
was not encouraging : rain most of the time..

It rained one evening and one morning in almost two weeks.

You can't predict any major differences between midMay and late May, that's only a week or two apart.

There is a super big festival in Seville about the second week of May, however, which you may want to go to or avoid.

No - the earlier you go the better. We've been in April and it was definitely pool/swimming weather. In summer it is hot as hell - Andalusia is normally over 100 degrees 0 so May would be to late for me.

(And we were in Madrid at the very end of April and it was 99 and humid.)

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like we should be fine in mid-May. Now I have to plan out the itinerary! I will be checking back regarding this.
