Planning a first time Europe trip, Spain, Croatia, Italy, etc
Hey guys. So my buddy and i are planning our first trip to Europe starting on August 7th and ending on September 3rd. We are 2 27 year olds and so far we have booked our flights to Madrid, from Madrid to Dubrovnik on 8/17, from Prague to Zurich on 9/1 and Zurich back to US on 3rd. Reason why we picked Zurich is that it had best availability with award booking with United and there was a cheap flight form Prague to Zurich.
We are arriving in Madrid on 7th at 7:10am and our plan is to go to Ibiza and Barcelona. We are looking into different options from flying to Ibiza right on 7th, then to Barcelona and back to Madrid, or taking AVE to Barcelona, then to Ibiza and back to Madrid. My question is, which city should we stay longer in? We are interested in sightseeing, tryign local cuisine, and partying at night, but not too much that we won't be able to wake up around 10am and continue exploring.
After Spain, we are staying few days in Dubrovnik and Split and flying from Split to Rome (didn't reserve the flight yet) and then taking a train to Florence for 2 days, before heading to Pisa for half a day and then flying to Prague.
Considering that we don't have Italy trip planned yet, would you guys recommend any other European locations? Italy seemed like best option between Croatia and Prague.

I felt exhausted just reading this. Suggest you slow down. If you want a relaxing holiday, leisurely meals, late nights, sleepins and so on, I'd be dropping some places from your itinerary rather than adding more.
To your questions: you seem to have 9 days to see Barcelona, Madrid (twice) and Ibiza so you won't have long in any one of these. Suggest you skip Italy and spend the time travelling in the countries you've already selected. btw taking trains and buses is way more relaxing than flying, in my opinion.

3-4 days per city is pretty average on backpacking Euro trips, no? I know it will be exhausting, but spending almost a whole month in Spain is a bit too much considering I haven't seen rest of the Europe.
