Places to visit in Spain for 3 days
Hi,
I am planning to visit Spain from Nov 9th to Nov 11th. What are the places that are not to be missed during the 3 day trip? Or is there any specific city which would be better to cover in a short span?
My husband has already been to Barcelona. So, I think we cannot travel there. We are looking for a nice, calm and scenic holiday. Please suggest.
Regards,
Madhura

With just three days, you have time to stay in only one city--Madrid or Seville. Neither will give you much scenery. I'd opt for Madrid if you're flying in. Take a day-trip to Toledo. Lots of stuff to see in Madrid--Prado, Palace, Plaza Mayor. Don't know how calm this would be, but don't think Seville would be any calmer.

Weather is unpredictable. I or someone else could show you a weather history site but that is no guarantee what could happen when you are in Madrid. http://www.eltiempo.es/

The natural way, no michrophones, just flamenco. http://www.casapatas.com/

You asked for suggestions for a nice, calm, and scenic 3-day holiday in Spain. So, that means most major cities are out. By the way, to ask for "places not to miss in Spain" for a 3-day visit is insane . Spain is such a diverse country; I can barely think of villages in Spain where 3 days would be enough time to enjoy all they have to offer. Go to San Sebastian, Seville, Salamanca, Cadiz...what exactly are you looking TO DO?

My first thought was Seville, but If you are flying in, I agree with the previous posters. Spain is a large country and travel will burn precious time. Madrid is fantastic, a diverse, interesting, easily navigated city, though I wouldn't call it calm. Depending on your interests, you could spend a 1/2 day at the Prado and then maybe take buggy ride and spend a few hours at Retiro park. El Rastro is vibrant and exciting if you are there on a weekend. The food market near plaza mayor is a great place to buy the makings of a picnic lunch. A side trip to Segovia could be nice, it is compact and peaceful IMO. That being said Madrid itself would keep you busy.
