Places to stay in or near ai-en-provence

We have a train to catch in the morning at 10:30. We thought it would make things easier to stay in aix, but we are open to suggestions. I always get such helpful input from this forum.

Clos de Violette, beautiful but expensive
Le Manoir, inexpensive but charming. both in Aix
We dropped our rental car off at the airport and flew back to Paris.

Are you leaving from the TGV station or from the regular Aix station in town?

Yes we are leaving from the tgv station.
I think we'd like something not too expensive. That being said, I have to admit, I don't really know the going rate for the average lunch!

I also liked Le Manoir. Charming, inexpensive. Easy walk to the train station.

When I was there, about 5 years ago, it seemed to be a bit neglected though - the staff was a little peculiar and the place was in need of some repairs - as though the owner had not been there in a long time. Hopefully it has improved.

The TGV station is outside of town quite a bit. You'll have to take a shuttle or taxi there - or drive if you keep your car.
