Places to hear live music in the daytime in London
Does such a thing exist? We had fun in Liverpool listening to music at the Cavern Club and were wondering if such a thing existed in London, specifically a place that allows under 18 people. Thanks for any suggestions!

I can't immediately think of one single an alternative to the aural pollution imposed on tube travellers by beggars with sound systems.
But London's stuffed with popup free daytime music, as well as as a huge range of pre-planned, sometimes free, classical and liturgical music daytime concerts - many in fascinating buildings.
There's no one, reliable, source of information on this. Start at http://www.timeout.com/london/opera-...usic-in-london then browse round similar section of the parent site.
Then google "free music London" or "lunchtime concerts" and go from there. It needs a bit of fighting through, but there's a remarkable number of relevant and useful (though far more irrelevant and utterly useless) links at http://golondon.about.com/od/londonf.../freemusic.htm

Covent Garden is the scene of perpetual buskers playing - sometimes like concerts - it's free - always something going on it seems. Can be of surprising quality sometimes. Also mime shows and magicians, human statues, etc.

Definitely not rock guitar (generally more classical/liturgical), but in case it's of interest - St Martin-in-the-Fields church has free lunchtime concerts three times a week, as well as other performances.

But it's a very different vibe than a rock venue!
