Before anyone can give you recommendations, they'll need to know what your budget is and what sort of food you're after. I'm sure with that information, people will be happy to help.
the budget could range from inexpensive to expensive. We want something memoriable. As for what food we are after anything that London is known for. For paris, anything parisian. Anything worth trying.
THanks

OK -- do you have ANY idea how many "memorable" restaurants there are in both cities?
Hundreds and hundreds, thousands even. You MUST be able to give us some sort of idea of budget? Cuisine? Ambience? Dinner or Lunch? Views? Classic or modern? Famous or off the beaten path? Tell us something/ANYTHING . . . . .
http://www.thegoring.com/ - quintessentially English restaurant not far from Buck Palace
http://www.fifteen.net/restaurants/fifteenlondon/Pages/default.aspx - Jamie Olivers (celeb chef) modern Italian
If you begin by searching on this site you'll get hundreds if not thousands of suggestions.
it might also help to say what part of town you will be in. london is particularly gigantic and hard to get around.
Hi Soy,

>...the budget could range from inexpensive to expensive.<
Before I waste any time recommending Taillevent, or a street vendor, what is your budget?
You really must make SOME decisions. In Paris for a meal with great wine are you looking at $100 per person? $200 per person? More?
There are many good places and quite a few great ones.
Bu you must provide some perspective. (I once spend 10- minutes providing answers on restaurants in NYC to a poster = only to be told the next day that they only eat "surf 'n' turf" for dinner - NOT a New York thing.)
Hi Soylily -
