Place to stay near Genoa

Going to visit Genoa area for a day or so and need a place to stay in Genoa or nearby. My grandfather came from Davagna, Italy, (from what I can tell it is a province of Genoa),but I can't find anything else about it. My husband and I want to visit this area and find out more about his roots. Would like to stay there if that is possible, or someplace near. Looking for moderate priced, with air (going in July). Any help would be appreciated. Also anyone know anything about Davagna, or how I can find out about it?
Hello Helen, I do not have any info on where to stay in Genoa, but I did find this site with info on Davagna. Also try geocities.com. If you go to Google and type in Davagna, Italy you may find more information.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the place where your grandfather was born. We took my mother back to her village in Italy 13 years ago (it was her first time back after 55 years!) and then again last summer. Words cannot explain how you feel when you visit the place of your parents and grandparents and beyond. Have a wonderful trip! Hope this helps.

http://www.turismo.liguriainrete.it/

Helen, I forgot to tell you that you can click on a translation of the site mentioned above if you can't read Italian.

Thanks for the replies and help. Yes, Mari, I am really looking forward to a special time as I visit my grandfather's homeland. My grandmother came from Genoa area too, not sure where though.
HELEN
