Hi Everyone.
we are planing to go to London in a few days End of July. 2016. We are 4 adult and 3 children.
So what area is safe and close to most attractions> Regants Park and Oxford Street ?
DLR station area? it is too expensive for me To stay center of london did anyone stay one of those area. or any other ideas. I am looking for Airbnb places to stay.

Seven is a lot of people. We need to know what your total nightly budget is. Otherwise no one can give useful suggestions. You'd need a three bedroom/two bath flat, or (usually) 3 hotels rooms. Though some hotels do have family rooms and you <i>might</i> be able to find a quad and triple. How old are the children. If they are young it will be easier because some places treat kids 16 and over as adults.

There are many attractions and sites spread all over London so no location is close to more than a few. Regents Park is on the north side of central London and isn't close to very much except itself

Oxford Street runs through the middle of London - but is a very VERY busy/congested shopping street so might not be the best area to stay.

Docklands covers a lot of territory east of central London and some areas would be OK but others would be pretty inconvenient for touring around.

Be very careful w/ airbnb -- maybe when you pick a place, before you book, ask here of it is a good location. Some airbnb owners aren't totally truthful about where the properties are.

But again -- we need to know your budget . . .

I know it is hard to find a hotel for 7 people unles i get 3 rooms. That is why i am looking for apartments in Airbnb and they all show the map where the place is. so what iam asking is what area should i look for, that is safe.
Thanks. i saw good priced Apartment at airbnb around $300 US per night.

Give us the postal code of the places you are considering and we can tell you if it's a good location

How old are the kids? If they are teens your needs/plans will be totally different than if they are toddlers or little ones. Will you need easy access to a park so the kids have some nearby space to run around every day?

Also if they are elementary kids you will have to cut back on your sightseeing since they are unlikely to be able to sightsee all day without getting really cranky.

So besides mattering for your location kids age can also make a large difference as to the properties you might consider in terms of beds/configuraitons.

Most any areas will be 'safe'. But many areas are not convenient.

$300 = approx £190 which is probably doable for a large flat on airbnb . . . but location is (almost) everything. You can post the link here and we can help. Or not - your choice. (we can also look for 'red flags' that someone not familiar w/ London/London apartments might not notice)

London is a very large, spread out city with major sights in many different areas. And there are dozens and dozens of neighborhoods. It's not possible to list all of the good ones (safe and convenient) and bad ones (which may be safe but a PIA to get anyplace else from or just not places anyone would want to stay).

If you provide the links to the apts you are considering people can give detailed input.

Not bad -- it is near Mornington Crescent tube station so only on the Northern Line but is close enough to Kings Cross/St Pancras, and Euston so LOTS of tube lines are pretty close. A short walk from Regents Park. Not the very most central but for touring, much better than staying out in Docklands

Well both of them have just one bath - and there is now way I would consider that with 7 people - I would want at least 2 full baths and a powder room.

And the second one shows that is has only 2 beds. Can't see how this would work for 7 people. Perhaps they have provided more info about sofa beds or ? - but I don;t see anything on the web site.

The second one is in an area I am not familiar with on the South Bank. Perhaps locals can comment on Elephant & Castle.

OOPS - my post was re the first one you linked. Was posting the same time you were posting the 2nd flat.

I would NOT rent the second one. It looks very nice but is near Elephant and Castle south of the river. And the circle they put on the map to show the location is enormous and it could be anywhere.

In a perfect world absolutely -- but relatively few budget properties have more than one bath.

I'd look at other websites, for example this one is 12 mins walk to Vauxhall station. Are the kids young enough to sleep in their parents room?

Actually it says a 5 min walk . . . that is not an ideal location but not horrible. You would be limited to the Victoria line and have a transfer(s) to get most anywhere.

It is a half or small bathroon. Not a 'bathroom' really (except in the US where some have a hard time saying 'toilet' ) - usually a toilet and basin only. Also called a lavatory or cloakroom (not to be confused w' a cloak/coat room in a public building).

Oh sorry Janisj, you know London much better than any of us. I should let google maps know that their walking directions are wrong and it's 5 mins walk and not 12mins. I look forward to your much better suggestions or do you just do corrections to other's posts?

There's always the LSE Vacation accommodations, which are student dormitories let out to tourists in the summer months. I've stayed at Bankside House near the Tate Museum, which I found to be suitable for my needs.
