Place to stay 2 nights outside Rome in August 2014

We have two nights before catching a flight from Rome. We will be traveling from Sienna and are looking for somewhere to stay for two nights that is not to far from the airport as our flights is 11.30am. Any suggestions welcome

I would stay in Orvieto and leave at 0630--good luck.

There are some very early trains from Orvieto to Rome. Stay at the Hotel Duomo.

Call me crazy, but...

I would take the train to Camucia-Cortona, cab to Hotel Italia for one night. Lunch and dinner at La Bucaccia [closed Monday].

Train to Rome, Hotel Italia Rome, dinner at Al Boschetto.

From Siena, you could head towards the coast (Grosseto) to head south. Stay somewhere along that route (Orbetello?). South of Orbetello you could go to Tuscania (where the 60's version of Romeo and Juliet filmed).

It's not clear to me whether you'll have a car or are traveling by public trans.

And you don't want to spend those two nights in Rome...?
