Place to Eat in Aix-en-Provence

We are meeting a friend for a drink and hopefully early dinner on a Monday in Aix-en-Provence. Any suggestions for a place to meet and have a bite to eat in Aix late afternoon, ~5:00 pm. We need to leave Aix by 8 pm. Open to just about anything given it's a Monday and we need to go early. Thanks

Well no responses? I am going to Aix in a couple of weeks - one restaurant that I saw mentioned was L'Incontournable. I have not been there yet, but am thinking about giving it a try.

So topping for you maybe we will both get a suggestion from a traveler that has been there.

Le Girasol, Rue Cardinale, down near the museum, could handle Americans at 5 PM. But any cafe/bar on The Cour Mirabeau would be fine.

"Real" restaurants like l'Incontournable won't be serving at 5 p.m.; it's a multicourse-meal kind of place, and service won't start before 7 p.m. Your best bet is to find a cafe in the Cours or in the pl. de l'Hotel de Ville or the adjacent pl. Richelme. There are casual pizza places and creperies all over Aix; our favorite pizza place, Chez Jo, at 59 rue Espariat, keeps hours like a restaurant, unfortunately. The tiny but very good Crepes Cidre et Compagnie, 23 rue Lecepede, is, I believe, open until 6.30 without a midafternoon break.
