Pisa & Lamborghini Museum in Bolognese
We are staying in Florence and plan to drive to Pisa early in the morning and then go to the Lamborghini museum/factory tour at 4:00 pm. We do not plan to stay too long in Pisa, just see the tower and church.. No plans now to climb the tower. If we do plan a climb that day, it would likely be the Guinigi tower in Lucca if we decide that is the best place to stop for lunch before heading to Sant 'Agata for the museum tour.
We could also do an early morning tour in Sant 'Agata, spend more time in Lucca and then head to Pisa in the early evening, which would be a shorter drive to Florence but I have read that the tower is best to see in the morning. Is that true?
Any thoughts on this day/eve trip? Any suggestions for lunch/dinner stops?

Oh...my 11 year old son and hubby think its torture for me to have them wait till the afternoon for the tour and prefer Pisa in the late afternoon/early eve option. Plus, if folks in Lucca eat around 1:30-2:00 they think we will be rushing through lunch to get to Sant Agata.
As far as I know Florence to Pisa is a little over an hour drive. Pisa to Lucca is around 1/2 hour. Lucca to Sant 'Agata (1.5-2hrs)

First, you need to know that Pisa and Lucca have ZTL just like Florence. I'm not sure you want a car for either of those.
Lucca will be pretty much shut down in the afternoon (until 4 or so) so time to visit would depend on what you wanted to do.

Kyboubon, thanks for letting me know, I didn't know they shut down that late. Helpful comment. I know about the ZTLs...I assume there must be readers out there that have driven to both. Not sure if I can do both in the same day using bus schedule
