After time in Germany we will visit parts of Switzerland (late August-Sept). Our last stop there is Vevey (we will have picked up a car in Strasbourg). A day later we meet friends at Chateau le Dryades in Pouligny Notre Dame. The town of Le Chatre is 12 km away.
My thought is to drive from Vevey to Geneve, have lunch in Lyon, do some quick shopping then drive to a point that will leave only 1- 2 hours drive the next morning. Staying in Lyon leaves over a four hour drive the next day.
Can someone suggest a location in a scenic area (can be a chateau or B & B) that meets these requirements?
Merci

Valençay has a chateau one can visit, and it is closer to the main sites of the Loire valley than most of the Indre.
