Phone cards for US to Spain calls?

I am trying to buy phone cards to call Spain from the US - - and finding SO MUCH confusing information online and tooooo many choices. Can anyone recommend a good one to buy -?? Does it matter what state you call from or do most of them have 800 access numbers? Is it better to buy one online or to try to buy one in a store?

I buy one called "Hola America" and have used it to call USA and the Caribbean. A 5 euros card will give you some 300+ minutes. Watch for the hotel charge to make these phones calls. I was disappointed to see connecting charges of 39 euros over a period of three days.

As a frequent traveler to Spain and Europe I chose to buy a Vodafone cel phone for 80 euros (good all over Europe), charge 20 euros card at any Phone House. I receive local and USA phone calls and only dial "must make" phone calls. For the rest,I use the Hola America card.

Now I am really confused!! 39 Euros in 3 days for connecting charges?? huh??!! Once you pay for the card and get it - how can they charge you any more charges?

I am trying to call FROM the USA TO Spain - so I'm not sure if that card would work anyway.

I don't know where you resie in the USA, I am in the Boston area and we get phone cards anywhere at the train stations and whereve there is a concentration of inmigrants and diversity.

I make sure I leave a few for my family to call. It is the most inexpensive way for us. My husband is a scottish guy and he already bought into this!

Glad to know that you are from my area!

I buy them at South Station. Look for the vending the carts located as you are coming out of the turnstile and going up to the main floor. I like the STI, Green among others. Other places to find them are downtown and all over Cambridge.

Good luck!

We have used this plan to call Ireland and France. Will also work for U.S. to Spain:
