People to thank and blanks to fill in - Italy trip soon....a bit of panic

Jump to last reply

Thanks to Jean, PalenQ, Bob the Navigator, LowCountryIslander, Moremiles and Taconictravler and others I know I missed.

before we start our Italy adventure. I still have some gaps to fill in and perhaps your experiences will help me. I know I actually have a lot of gaps. I have had to make a huge business trip over to remote area so some of the research I intended to do has gotten put aside so I am hoping you can understand my compiling.

I am not too worried about the Tuscany part of this, as long as we have a list of towns to see. I am more anxious about Florence and Rome and only having 1 ½ days in Florence and two days in Rome. Not much time to see these cities but if you have some high points that could make it easier on us. Shopping there has to be some shopping, have those handbags and oils on a list from LowCountryIslander ☺

1st Day

First stop is Dubai for one evening (thanks Moremiles, we are taking your advice and staying at the Park Hyatt)
Dinner at Tagine Restaurant one of my favorites

2nd Day
Emirates flight to Rome – Hilton Hotel first evening (thanks bobthenavigator for suggestion)

3rd day
am - We are meeting friends at the Hertz rental and then drive to LaFoce (thanks
Taconictraveler, we are looking forwarded to this beautiful gem)

Some dear Aussie friends are staying over in the area and are going to join us there for the weekend, fun for our friends from home to meet some of our international friends.

Spend night at LaFoce B&B

4th day
Check into our villa at LaFoce

6th day

7th day
Lunch and wine tour in Montalcino – have reservations – Should we combine the abbey and this tour together same day.

8th day

9th day

10th day

11th day

Saturday – check out of LaFoce and drive to Florence
Drop off Rental car outside Florence
Get Taxi to Marriott Florence (I know sounds boring but using points)
Dinner at Vini e Vecchi Sapori

Sunday

Monday

Check out of Marriott and get morning train to Rome (thinking of purchasing tickets today from RailEurope for train travel)

Arrive Train Terminal
Taxi to Hotel near Spanish Steps and hit the ground running or maybe not, perhaps just nice dinner and stroll.

Sights - ????

Tuesday

Wednesday

Sights – WE ONLY HAVE ¾ of day left for four of us to hit some high points
