Passenger van Rental in Milan

Hi,

We are a group of 11, 5 adults 6 children. We would like to rent a large passenger van that would accommodate 12. I see sites offering 12 passenger vans, but when I try to reserve, the only vans available are 9 passengers. Any suggestion on a rental place that would offer large vans?

We would like to travel for 5 days in different towns, starting in Milan and ending in Genova.

Thanks

the logistics are always better IMO with two cars.. or a smaller van and one car. A van/ bus for 11 plus luggage.. is huge.

A 12-person van will be nothing but a huge headache, if you can even rent one. You probably need a special license. Plus how would you navigate narrow streets, alleyways, and skinny country roads? How/where would you park?

Even a 9-passenger van is huge - you can't get one in my driveway.

Rent 2 or 3 cars instead.

You need a special licence to drive a 12 passenger van - that is why they only come up with a 9 person van when you look. There is no luggage room in those vehicles either.

I agree with the renting multiple cars or two smaller vans options instead. Depending on the age and height of the children you may also need to rent or bring with you EU approve child seats/boosters.

You need to be aware of the zoning rules in Italian cities to avoid multiple expensive fines. Also if your van is parked in a car park and takes up more than one allocated space (which it probably will) you need to buy tickets for each space you occupy. Some places will just not allow you to park there regardless.
