Part 2 Venice to St Eze via Amalfi! Advice anyone?

Ok I’m getting closer to the big day, when we get on the plane!
I’ve already put up some questions about the first part of our itinerary. Paris to Venice via Vienna. Now for part 2, Venice to Cote d'Azur
The plan so far.
1. Venice 3 nights
2. In transit one night (bologna area?) Lamborghini factory
3. Amalfi coast 4 nights including day trip to Pompeii Vesuvius and/or Herculaneum
4. Rome 3 nights
5. Tuscany – 5 nights base at San Gimignano and day trips to Florence, Lucca, Sienna...
6. Lake Como – 7 nights stay at Veranna
7. Northern Italy – 4 nights visit friends & day trips to Sondrio, Montagna, Livigno, Chiesa in Valmalenco....
Just a few basics for your information. DH, 2 daughters 12 & 9 and I travelling by car. This part of the trip is from early November to early December. We don’t expect good weather. And the Lake Como bit is for a rest as much as anything!
I guess the questions are:
Do you think we’ve allowed enough time for each place?
Any suggestions of cheap/nice accommodation or places to eat?
Preferred routes from A to B, particularly scenic?
Special things for kids to do..etc , Any suggestions are welcome...cheers JT

my initial reaction is whether you want to spend so much time at the coast and on lake comma in winter. these are essentially summer resorts and IMHO you are underchanging Venice and Rome which will provide you with so much more.

I would drop Como altogether, and perhaps go to Naples rather than the Amalfi.

i would give Venice at least 4 nights, and Rome a week. Turin would be a good base in the north, and Bologna is worth more than a day - a good base for day trips.

Thanks for the comments, annhig. I'll look into a slight shuffle of days, although the Lake Como bit is more for a rest in the middle of a 9 week trip (all up. My DH likes to put his feet up during a holiday! Thanks again, JT

quovadis, sorry for the delay in getting back! Thanks so much for the info, all look useful. I'll ponder the change to more time in the south, especially with the prices you've mentioned. Definitely worth a look at.
Have a great day! JT
