Parking outside Florence, meeting Tour Guide & Piazzale Michelangelo after?

Jump to last reply

We will be driving from Castellina in Chianti to Florence. I've booked a 6 hour tour (with lunch break!) of Florence, scheduled to begin at 8AM. Guide wants to meet us in front of Galleria dell'Accademia.

Our tour guide recommended parking at Firenze SMN, but it is almost twice the cost of other lots, and further in than I would like to drive.

What about parking in the pay lot for Porta Romana ~ 1 min walk to Calza 02, take the 11 bus towards Salviatino (20 min) get off at Ricasoli and a 3 min walk to meet our Tour Guide.

Oltrarno or Sant'ambrogio? Gelsomino? We would like a parking lot with easy public access to downtown, and not far from Piazzale Michelangelo so we can hopefully stop there at sunset.

We will be there on a Thursday at the end of September if that makes any difference.
