Parking in Florence

Leaving in one week for Montalcino. We have cars and a couple of people want to go to Florence. I have an old map that says there is parking at the train station...is that still available? That would suit me as I know my way around Florence from the station.
Thanks for help to all the Fodorites that helped me directly or indirectly in the planning of our trip.
Still haven't decided which way to drive to Montalcino, A12 or A1. Any last minute ideas to help me choose?
