Park Guell in Barcelona

I checked the search link and only one old post came up. We have tickets for the Sagrada and same afternoon tickets for the Gaudi House and Museum in the park. I see that there is a charge for the Monumental Zone and the rest of the park is free. Is the MZ worthy of a ticket? I don't mind purchasing tickets, but they have to be for a certain entry time and that is difficult to judge. So, thinking to just skip MZ or wait until there and decide. We go in October. Your thoughts appreciated.

I've read posts on this board that there are long lines to get in to the MZ part of the park so you take your chance at getting in at the right time. I'm not sure how long the walk is to get into the park at the other end but I think it's a long way around.

I loved the MZ and advise you to visit it. When I went last year (April) it was free and not that many people were there.

When I visited the Gaudi house there were about 5 people inside the house so there was no need for advanced tickets.

What time are your Sagrada Familia tickets? You'll want about 1.5 to 2 hours in the church (at least I did).

I have never heard of the MZ - is this something new now? We were there I guess about 5 years ago - whole park was open and free.

MZ is the Monumental Zone, where all the ceramics are. Since October, 2013 there has been a charge to enter and long lines have been reported for those who have not purchased advanced tickets.

Well that's a shame IMO. I'm not sure there is much point going to the park if you don't go to the newly called MZ - and it is so amazing. You could get alot of the general sense of Gaudi at his other works but the park has so many clever constructions / areas. When we visited it was fairly crowded as you walked around, but you did not have to wait to get in.
