Paris:small bistro or neighborhood place for New Years Eve and/or Xmas day?

I've been reading the various posts about Paris restaurants for New Years Eve, but wondering if there is a small charming place, maybe a neighborhood bistro, which anyone knows to be open then or for Xmas Eve or Xmas day dinner (8pm)? The places mentioned in some of the posts seem to be larger well-known places with menus at 200 euros per person and up.

Thank you for any ideas you might have, there are so many people on this forum with good tips to share.

Bonjour Malka,

For the quintessential neighbourhood bistro there is nothing like "Le Bistral" in the Batignolles. The cuisine is really inventive with terroir produces and the wines to completed the creation. It is a small place so you will need reservation.

You will have to ring them to find out the openings time during the holidays.

Le Bistral
80, Rue Lemercier
Tel : 01 42 63 59 61

We just returned from a trip to paris and I could reccomend Chez Lena et Mimile at 32 rue Tournefort www.chezlenaetmimile.com it will easily fit in your price range. Dont know if they are open but you can give it a shot. I posted some info about our experience earlier today, under my Paris Trip report. Also we really enjoyed Chez Denise near the Pompidou it is closed weekends and I don't know about holidays.

If you will go to the egullet.com site and for France, of course, you will find that John Talbott has a list.

Egullet is THE website for foodies.......

Thank you for all your replies, I will get busy trying to make reservations now. It has been bit of a challenge with holiday schedules, many places full or closed, as I'm sure people know.

Thank you gracejoan3 for the egullet website, will be very useful.
