Paris/Citadines Tour Eiffel
Can anyone offer rants or raves on the Citadines Tour Eiffel in Paris? I'm particularly interested in cleanliness and helpfulness of front desk. Any information is appreciated.

Can't help you with Ctadines Tour Eiffel, but we stayed in Citadines Paris Bastille Nation a year ago. Our apartment was very small, but it was clean and adequate. We were'nt there that much so it didn't really matter. It is really nice to be able to make coffe in the morning before getting ready to go out and explore. MG

Don't know about the Tour Eiffel either however we stayed at the Citadine Louvre in 2001. It was fine. From what I understand they are all fairly similar. This year we rented a private apartment because we needed more space (bringing the mother-in-law) but I would certainly stay at a Citadine again. The one we stayed in was clean and since it was our first trip we asked the desk lots of questions and they were friendly and helpful.

Have not stayed at that particular Citadines but have stayed at St Germain two times, and South Kensington and Barcelona once. All roughly the same and all clean but they do seem to get heavy use and best when newly renovated. Eiffel location alittle out of the way for my tastes. I have always found the people at the front desk to be helpful at all Citadines but it is not the Four Seasons or any major Asian hotel when it comes to concierge type of service.

After 3 years of living in Paris, friends spent their last week at the Citadines Tour Eiffel. The day before they were to leave, the safe was stolen from their hotel room (never use a hotel safe!), along with a lap top and other items. Apparently the front desk clerk had given their room key to someone who said they had lost theirs.
Maybe this was a one-off, who knows? At any rate, this particular Citadines is located very close to the metro, making it easy for the thief to make a quick exit.

I have stayed at a couple of Citadines, but not that particular one. Something to keep in mind is that the front desk is not always manned in some of them. After, I think, 9 or 10 pm in Nice, for instance, there is no one available. You let yourself in and out with your key. They have always been friendly and helpful when they're around though.
