Most of the larger department stores and smaller stores are closed on Sunday. Opened are the Virgin store on the Champs Elysee, I believe Sephora on the Champs is opened as well. Most all of the Marais district is opened on Sunday. I would hit a few museums in the morning, and then explore the Marais. If the weather is nice, it was a kick to people watch along the banks of the Seine. All of the major tourist attractions will be opened as well.

Actually, the national museums, such as the Louvre are open Mondays and closed Tuesdays. The city museums, such as the D'Orsay, close Mondays. A surprising number of good restaurants close weekends. Still, you won't run out of things to do.

The Louvre, the Beaubourg, the Picasso and Versailles are open Monday (National museums are closed Tuesdays; city of Paris museums, like Carnavalet, are closed Mondays). The d'Orsay is closed Monday (which is why it's packed on Tuesdays when the national museums are closed). Use this website to verify days and times:

Some restaurants are closed on Sundays for lunch or all day, some restaurants are closed on Mondays....but there are about 3 1/2 bazillion places to eat in Paris, so you won't starve.

some small shops are also closed on Mondays,or just Monday mornings.
While the museums are open on Sundays, they are very crowded, especially on the first Sunday of each month when some have free admission.
The museum pass, in addition to including the admission charges for many museums and monuments, will save your waiting in the lines at the Orsay and at the Louvre.

Most stores are closed Sunday. Some closed Monday, especially in the morning although more are starting to open Monday. Museums will be open Sunday - some closed Monday, some Tuesday. Also, churches are normally open everyday. The art and architecture of the churches is fantastic, don't forget to visit these anyday.
