Paris Vision/Gray Line

We are going to Paris in 10 days and don't speak much French. I thought we might take a bus tour to get our bearings on the first day and follow up on the places we want to see more of. (traveling with an 11 yr old)Can you recommend either company? Any advice?

Judy:
I have used Paris Visions and City Rama for tours while in Paris. Both provide English speaking guides. You will be asked while making the reservation which language you need. You will probably (but not always) be with other English speaking visitors. A few people think they are not worth the money. I enjoyed them and they gave me a good over all view of the City and some places I have gone back to later. they also do some day trips. Have fun

ParisVision is fine, Cityrama is fine, I'm not familiar with Gray Line, or you could do the l'Opentour bus, which is a hop on/hop off bus with commentary - it goes by all the major sights, get off if you want to visit, get back on to continue the tour.
http://www.cityrama.com/opentour/

I believe Grey Line is CityRama. I have used Paris Vision, not CityRama and it was fine. Take the 2 hour tour of the Paris highlights - you're right -it is a good way to get your bearings.

I did a Paris Vision Illuminations (night) tour and really enjoyed it. Also took a Paris Vision tour to Giverny. However, for a bus tour during the day, especially with an 11 year old, you might like the L'Opentour, hop on hop off variety better. The one day ticket is good for 24 hours, or they also have a 2-day pass. I didn't do that in Paris, as I know my way around, but did in London and other cities in England, and they are great. They seem very popular in Paris, and have stops just about everywhere.
