Paris: Uber and luggage storage

Arrived CDG at 630 Monday morning. Collected bags and used my US Uber app to request a car. Arrived within 8 minutes and, although our ride to Marais was over an hour, we were charged a flat €45 for the trip.

We went directly to the Marais location of city-locker (82 rue de Gravilliers) to use the 2 storage lockers I booked before departure at a cost of €30. The space cannot be entered until exactly 800, but the codes for the doors and lockers worked perfectly. Lockers were more than adequate for our big bags and carry-ons, and I would definitely use this option again... Probably a good idea to reserve in advance since there were only about 40 lockers available.

If you use this option be sure to print and travel with your confirmation codes in case wifi is spotty.

thanks for the info, that is a pretty good fare for the car service. Is Uber allowed to pick people up right at the airport where you come out from baggage claim, for example? I guess they can't stop them if it looks like a regular car. I know where I live, they are not allowed to wait at the airport, like taxis are, so they park in some public lot a bit away.

The driver picked us up just outside baggage claim at the limo/car service lane. He did not have an Uber decal but we recognized him from photo and license tag # on Uber app.

So you saved only about 10 EU and still had to wait 8 minutes for Uber to show up and then go meet the driver? The ride into the Marais normally takes an hour at that time of morning, so you did't save any time by using Uber. I would have just gone to the regular taxi line and saved myself all that trouble.

Good to know about the luggage storage, though.
