Paris to Venice via the Bernina Express

Jump to last reply

Hello. I'll be travelling from Paris to Venice in late September/early October with my wife and our daughter. We were planning to make this trip by plane, but I saw in the forums that we could to it by train and through the Swiss Alps. More specifically, I'm very interested in the Bernina Express and see/walk on some snow. The site seat61 has a lot of info about this route, but doesn't say much about were we can stop to break the trip in two days (St. Moritz? somewhere else?), how long the entire trip will take etc.

I'm ware of the Thello sleeper train, but it isn't what we want.

Some questions:

1. Is this a good idea (Paris-Venice via the Bernina Express)?

2.Where is the best place to go from Paris to take the Bernina Express? Zurich?

2. Where should we stop ? St. Moritz or some other place?

3. Planning to do this trip in two days is enough? That is to say, leave Paris in day 1 by morning, stop in some place and arrive in Venice by day 2 evening/night?

4. The Swiss pass is worth in this situation?

Thanks!

PS: I've already posted about other moments of my trip. But, as a matter of planning, I'm breaking that trip in smaller parts. Should I use only one topic?
