Paris to Northern Italy with 13-year old daughter

Jump to last reply

My daughter and I are planning a two-week mother-daughter trip next spring. We plan to fly into Paris and spend a couple days there, then overnight train down to Italy. (A little impractical, I know, but she REALLY wants to see Paris, and I doubt we'll be back soon, so we are going to pack it in.)

I'd like her to see Venice, but other than that I am open. We would like a little city time and a little coast time. Lots of great food. A little museum time...

My daughter loves to take photos, loves beautiful things, and loves to eat and hike and shop. I love all the same, but am also just excited to see my daughter discover Europe. She is studying Italian in preparation for the trip. :)

I lived in Florence for two years (many, many years ago) and have traveled a bit in southern Italy, but I don't know northern Italy at all.

A friend is staying on the Ligurian coast right now, and her photos are absolutely gorgeous, so that is very appealing....

Can we do it without a car?

We would probably fly out of Milan.

Would love any suggestions! Thank you!
