My wife and I are leaving mid October on the above mentioned itinerary for a 12 day trip. We've been to Paris and Brugge before..never to Amsterdam. So we arrive in Paris Tues. am and are staying at the Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne (in the 1st). Were there for 2 days...then we train to Epernay..where we pick up a 3 day rental.. Staying at the La Villa Eugene in Epernay..and plan on a champagne tour or two. Saturday am we drive leisurely to Lille,France spend the night..drop of rental (much cheaper w/o crossing border) and train to Brugge. Staying 2 nights at B&B...Number11..fantastic reviews on TA. Train to Amsterdam on Tues. for 5 days. Staying at B&B...The Flying Pancake..again great TA reviews. Plan on Mikes Bikes outside the city tour one day. Maybe to some we're on the move a bit..but this is how we've done 5 or6 Europe trips. Any commments / ideas would be welcome ..

Just wondered what your reasons are for driving to Lille from Epernay. It sounds like it would make more sense to drop the car off in Paris (or even just take the same train you're taking to Epernay back), and catch the Thalys to Belgium. Is there something you're going to see in Lille?
Felly..Lille is on the way to Brugge...and hopefully will be a nice ride. The train is less than 2 hours. We're actually staying in Seclin at La Auberge du Frogeron. The chef is an up and comer..and it's our splurge trip meal.
