Paris then Glasgow with 5 kids

Jump to last reply

We are going to be taking my mil to Glasgow for her 80th.
Out children range from 6 to 22. The Christmas period seems to be the only time we can all be together without scheduling problems.
We were hoping to spend some family time in Paris for one week before we head to Glasgow to be with extended family.
My dilemma lies with where to stay. I know that it will be expensive to accommodate 7 no matter where we stay. We always try to book an apartment when we travel instead of hotels. Would it make sense to stay somewhere outside of Paris and take the train in or would the cost of the trains make it better to stay closer to the city?
