The Duquesne Eiffel is not far from Segur and is a nice hotel.
As for why you'd want to stay there, I can think of at least 6 different reasons, and none of them are my business. The area is not disagreeable, it is just very residential and quiet.
There is an Aoki patisserie nearby that is really great and Le Moulin de la Vièrge is good, too.

The reason I even mentioned it being disagreeable is that I stay frequently at the Hôtel Duquesne, and once they were unable to accommodate us for the last night of our stay there and made arrangements for us to stay at what I believe was called the Hôtel Ségur, right near the Ségur métro stop. The hotel was barely acceptable (and I'm not fussy about hotels), and the neighborhood was scruffy and unkempt, completely different from the area around the Duquesne, which is what I'd call quiet and residential.

Given the specificity of the request, the OP probably has a reason to want to be there. Perhaps a relative or friend is staying there or need to be near UNESCO. who knows, but perhaps near the Segur metro is a broad area request, not right next to it (ie, the Duquesne Eiffel would fit the criteria, and if so, there are several hotels more over around Ecole Militaire stop, like the Bourdonnais, the Cadran, the Relais Bosquet).
I'd suggest you look at the Ibis Cambronne for a budget hotel in that area. http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-...me/index.shtml
they don't really have B&Bs in Paris much, but don't expect king beds in B&Bs or budget hotels. Of course, the TRYP Paris de Saxe hotel is right near UNESCO but it is more expensive than the Ibis. http://www.solmelia.com/hotels/franc...hotel/home.htm
