Interesting article today about most of the bells in Notre Dame cathedral being torn down and recast - seems the old bells did not sound good enough! The big bell Emanuel will remain in place however.

To me one of the unique things to do in Paris is to climb up inside the cathedral's roof and go eyeball to eyeball with the bells though I remember it as being a rather rickety climb!

Interesting too the Paris' biggest bells are in the Sacre Couer in Montmartre!
