Paris- Provence by car and What Else is there to see??
Me and my husband have 3 weeks, 17 days to travel en france by car. My Idea is start from Lyon -> Avignon ( surroundings) -> Aix en Provence -> Marseille back to Paris for 5 days before hit Amsterdam.
Ive been reading a lot but Im crazy about the infos! We are going for a gastro tour.
You guys think I should add any other destination? Is there any good tip for small producer and hidden places between LYon and Avignon to see by car?
Should I go crazy and head to bordeaux for a couple of days before paris?
We are from brazil. a chef and a food entrepeneur!
Any great tip is welcome =)

If you go by car there is a lot of small lovely places to visit. Chatauneuf du Pape is close to Avignon and a place to stop if you are into wine: http://theprovenceguide.com/food-and...-du-pape-wine/

Hi there-I currently live in France and have done a lot of driving here. I think you will have enough time to go on to Bordeaux if you don't mind a fairly fast pace. Does your 17 days include the portion in Amsterdam as well as the travel to/from Brazil? If so, that is probably cutting it too short. But if it is just the France portion, then I think it is possible if it fits your pace.
Another thing to consider (particularly if you could extend your trip a few days to 21 days for example) would be to use the Peugeot Open Europe car lease program. We use this program every year and love it because we get to drive a brand new car and we can specify diesel for better mileage on the road and it includes all insurance coverage. Here is the agency we use:

You can rent for less than 21 days as they say:
"All Buy Backs must be for a minimum of 21 days. Although you may return the vehicle earlier, the 21 day rate still applies."
But you would just have to compare it to cost of a rental to see if it makes sense. But we really love the program-much nicer than renting in my experience.

On the way back to paris, or before consider Burgundy, my favorite town-Beaunne.
My own personal recommendation is to avoid andouillette. See previous posts. A chef and food entrepreneur-- Lyon is paradise. Check out the market, and if you have the time and money- "Paul Bocuse". has several restaurants.

@leuk2 hahahaa! thansk for the tips, but going to barcelona will be a lot of driving and indeed BCN needs much more then only a couple of days... Alhtough I think Im going from marseille to Brezie, the capital of fois gras and trufles...
