Paris, One night for a foodie
Hi all,
I would really appreciate your help. I have a one day layover in Paris and just need a hotel for one night in April that is convenient to the train that runs from CDG into town. I prefer a new hotel in a trendy area. I am guessing CDG ends and then you have to take a metro. Anything easy would help. After a ten hour flight, I don't want to have to think too much. Thanks so much!

Do you have a budget? If I had a lot of euros I'd stay at l'
Hotel. The restaurant is one of my favorites, and the hotel is beautiful.

Trendy + easy airport access makes me think staying in the Bastille/Canal St Martin area. Take a look at Le Citizen Hôtel.
From hotels in that area, you can make one Metro connection to either Châtelet-les-Halles or Gare du Nord and grab the RER B to CDG from there.

Oh that is too bad the restaurant is closed. Perhaps you could stay there anyway and take a nice 10-15 minute stroll to Le Grand Vefour for dinner? http://www.grand-vefour.com/

There are several "trendy" areas of Paris; Bastille, Belleville and Ménilmontant in the 20th, Les Halles, Ile St-Louis, Marais, Montmartre, Montparnasse and St-Germain-des-Prés in the 6th.
The RER B line travels from south to north through the center of Paris. (www.ratp.fr/plan-interactif/).
For trendy hotels in Paris, and not knowing your budget, try Threse or Crayon in the 1st, Jules & Jim or Du Petit Moulin in the 3rd, Caron de Beaumarchais in the 4th, Le Madison or Artus in the 6th, Thoumieux, Verneuil or Bourgogne & Montana in the 7th, Arvor Saint Georges or Amour in the 9th, Mama Shelter in the 20th (with interiors by Philippe Starck), and Hotel Original Paris in the 11th.
The new Terrass" Hotel, 12-14 Rue Joseph de Maistre in the 18th, is due to open in the spring, but may not be available for your stay.
