Paris-Need help planning a four day itenerary
My husband and I will be arriving in Paris Monday 30 July in the am at CDG via Dublin, will depart Thursday late evening back to Dublin. Plan on taking the public transportation to the hotel. We are American, late 30's. We arrive in Dublin this Saturday am, I have lots of family there, with my parents and our tow children, Paris is a side trip for husband and I. I'm quite certain we will stay at the Hotel Bonaparte. I was in Paris about 10 years ago, husband has never been. Any advice on restaurants, sites not to miss, ways to save money-example museum passes? Any and all advice is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi C,
Start with "Paris" under "Destinations".
Then enter <Paris Restaurants>, <Paris sightseeing>, etc in the "Search this forum" box.
You will get more pages than the latest Harry Potter book.
The Bonaparte is a good place to stay.
Within walking distance are:
The World’s Best Croissant bakery is at Rue Madam and Rue Vaugirarde.
There is a monoprix at the corner where Rue Bonaparte meets Blvd St Germaine 50 Rue de Rennes

La Bastide d'Opio (or Bistrot d'Opio)

This is on a street directly behind the Bonaparte. Tiny place, always hopping. Their specialty is a lamb kabob with various mustards...very good!
In this same area you'll find various pizzarias, creperies, even an italian "deli" with good pastas. We go there often when we don't want a big meal.

With four days without kids, be sure to make time to just sit in a cafe and have a coffee or glass of wine and people watch and get to know one another again! Just strolling along the Seine, through perhaps Luxemborg Gardens, through little side streets looking in the very creative windows, etc., would be great fun.

If you do stay at the Bonaparte, you have great access to the bus lines. There's a major bus stop right around the corner.
When you get your metro tickets get a map that includes bus lines. (Don't start studying now---you'll get intimidated!). Just ask the hotel clerk which bus to catch to go to _________. With the help of the Bonaparte staff we quickly came to feel confident taking the bus all over Paris.
