Paris Metro Question

I want to visit the St Denis Basilica. I have a Metro pass for zone 1-2, but it looks like St Denis is in zone 3. How do I proceed? Buy separate tickets? Does it just take one regular ticket to go there and one to come back?

Stupid question, I know.

I believe that all metro as distinct from RER stations are within the same zone, even when the stops are outside the boundaries of Paris proper.

Every metro station in Paris is treated as though it is in zone 1. (This is not the case of the RER.)

Of course I meant "every metro station" and not "every metro station in Paris."

The pass should do, no extra ticket necessary.
