Paris: Les Grands Voisins Project...

Folks looking for a cheap place to crash in Paris as well as a unique place to experience may want to investigate the Grands Voisins Projects right in the heart of Paris but any traveler may find a trek thru this weird urban landscape (which reminds me from photos of Copenhagen's Christians -I have not been there) may want to check it out!

In fact, this is a work in progress.
There are lots of educational things to do, but require tickets.
The whole project is dedicated to housing people who don't have any money and are in need of re-insertion into society, and various ecological workshops.

I wandered through this place yesterday. Nobody around at noon. There were 2 small cafes, and a netted-off place for beehives. The only thing that was open was the Recyclerie - which had castoff items, and a surplus of white dishes.
The place will close at the end of December and is looking for a new home.
There is a lot of demolition going on right next door - just a small portion is being used for shops and bees.
