It is a nice place, rather typical, but good brasserie. My only complaint was we wanted to sit outside but because we aren't smokers, they wouldn't let us! Inside in July was hot as an oven!
Foie gras, steak tartar, and Andouillette sausages (which I personally can't stand) are all specialties. It's very popular and has a stunning old interior.

Thank you NeoPatrick and djkbooks. Zagats doesn't give it an especially good food rating, so was wondering about it, and glad to hear you found the food good. We are thinking of it for after-theatre dinner, and possibly for New Years Eve. What do you think? There is another called la Taverne on Blvd des Italiens, but could find very little info on that one.
