Paris Jazz Clubs

Will be staying in Paris in the 1st in early February. Found recommendations online for the following Jazz Clubs: DucDesLombards; Baiser Sale; Sunside; Petit Opportun; and Slow Club. Any feedback or other recommendations? Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure if this is still a good e-mail address, but you might try contacting them for info on jazz while you are in Paris. Hope it helps!

I'll second Les Sept Lezard, and not just the Sunday jam sessions. This place swings seven nights a week!

I just read somewhere that there was a fire at Sunside/Sunset and they are closed for repairs.

You can find listings for jazz in Paris at www.tsfjazz.com, a radio station. Click on Jazzenda for a schedule.

I can vouch for:
Caveau de la Huchette
5 rue de la Huchette (5th) 01 43 26 65 05 Metrot.Michel
Jazz club located in a medieval cellar filled with great sound and comfortable atmosphere.

Loved the local in the latin quarter. Went to a local greek restaurant and then was told by a local to hit this jazz club. I liked it for the atmosphere. Very unpretentious, mix of locals and tourists. Many regulars there. A lot of dancers doing the "rock and roll" to Bee-bop jazz. Rock and roll is similar to swing in america. My Mom and I went together and if you are woman traveling alone expect you will have parisian men asking you to dance. Lots of fun!

I agree with wtggirl on Caveau de la Huchette. We happened upon in while in Paris this past December. Totally relaxed and definitely full of regulars that LOVE to dance. It even inspired my husband and I to dance to a slow song. Lots of fun. $10e cover.

ekc,
My husband and I went to Le Bilboquet on the rue Saint Benoît last year and really enjoyed it.

Le Bilboquet
13 RUE SAINT BENOIT 75006
tel: 01 45 48 81 84

If you go there, I would suggest eating dinner there, as I'm sure the people eating dinner had more comfortable seats than we did, though it was still fun. The group that played was incredible. They began at 22:00 and played 3 hour long sets.
