Paris Hotel Recommendation in the 6th

Hello fodorites...can you recommend something in the $200 to $300 range in the 6th convenient to public transportation would also be a plus as we will probably take the bus or train to and from CDG. I have no problem paying less that $200 either but somehow I don't know if that is realistic. Thanks very much.

I recommend the Hotel du Danube on the Rue Jacob. It's a lovely hotel on a wonderful street. It's to a metro stop and within walking distance of many attractions in the 6th arr. If that hotel is booked try the Hotel Lenox across the street.

Okay--I haven't stayed here (we stayed in an apartment just down the block) but we passed this hotel often and Looked inside once. It looked charming!

The location seems to be just right for you.

If I were looking for a hotel in Paris, I would look here first!

Hi M,

>In Paris, we always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 130E dbl + bkfst. It is just around the corner from Place St. Sulpice, near 3 metro stops and 4 bus routes. Has AC and an elevator.

The staff speaks English well, and is very helpful. The front desk is staffed 24/7

They can arrange a shuttle pickup to/from CDG for you.

Scroll to Dec 31,2010 where I have listed all of the hotels recommended in my thread by district. There's a long list of hotels in the 6th. This is also my regular district of many decades. Happy Travels!

We love the Danube and have stayed there many times before we started renting apts. I still stop in every trip to say hello to Francois. In fact we love Rue Jacob and have stayed at just about every hotel there, the D'Angleterre, Millesime, des Marroniers. The D' ANgleterre and des Marroniers have been renovatedr recently but I haven't seen the work yet.Great location with mtro and buses close by , good cafes and a laundromat in short walking distance

I stayed at the Hotel Clement in June (a 2*) and it was a great location and a pretty good value for that area.

We've stayed several times at The Artus, which is also on The Rue D'Buci. I haven't stayed there of late, so I won't vouch for the hotel. However, the Artus and the Hotel Buci are on a great street that isn't overwhelming with noise, but a short walk to the lively cafes in the area.
