Paris Hotel Needed: Details on what I am looking for inside...
I am helping a friend plan his 10th anniversary trip to Paris to surprise his wife. He is looking for a hotel in the 5th, 6th or 7th, romantic (obviously...), private bathroom. They are 30 somethings who like living the fine lifestyle, but have a budget of $200-$250/night (US dollars). His wife loves art, fashion and anything "cool." Any thoughts?

With the budget your friend have, he can go in a very good hotel...I saw one in the 6th, which looks like very romantic and ifhis wife likes art, it will be Ok because the decoration looks really art-related. It is called the Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain. You can give the website to your friend in order that he discovers it: www.leftbankstgermain.com..He even can book on-line...!!!

Try Le Walt in the 7th. It is relatively new, but I think there were some posts on tripadvisor.com. I have seen the rooms but not stayed there. The owner's husband was a former director of Le Crillon . Each room has its own huge painting over the bed. The baths are nicely appointed. The hotel is contemporary with hard wood floors, there is a nice courtyard to have drinks or breakfast. They also have their own restaurant. It is near the metro, bus and cabs. The neighborhood has a wonderful selection of restaurants. It might be a little high, but it doesn't hurt to inquire especially if it is when things are slow.

Look into the Caron de Beaumarchais in the Marais--4th arrondissement.
The area is very cool, the hotel is universally praised, rooms on the small side, but lots of charm, but it's old-world charm.

I just checked the www.parischarminghotels.net site and LE Walt will fall into your budget and it is a 4 star. There are also some pictures. I also some some special rates listed. They have their own website but are not offering discounts on it.
