paris hotel easy commute to Palais de Congres

We are looking for a nice hotel with decent size rooms for a 5 night stay walking distance to metro (line 1) which will be taken to reach the Palais de Congres at Port Maillot. We would prefer to be in a more central area and take the metro to the conference. I read that Arrondissement 1 near Palais Royal or Place Vendome might be convenient. Thanks

How about Hotel Brittanique? It's a 1 minute walk to Chatelet station on Metro Line 1. I don't know the budget but if it is expansive, take a look at Garnd Hotel du Palais Royale which is quite close to the Palais Royal -Musee de Louvre stop on Line 7. Saint James & Albany Hotel across from Tuilleries metro station is another suggestion.

Porte Maillot and palais des congrès.

Anything on metro line 1 or RER B.
My wife usually sleeps at Arc de Triomphe at hotel splendid or ...

Britannique is a very good hotel. Not inexpensive, it took me one year if lurking oin booking.com to find a room in my budget. Le bar de la fin du monde just in front is fun.

Thanks , I will look into the hotels. Britannique is in our price range. Is Chatelet a nice walking area- is it better than near Palais Royale metro?

Châtelet is both metro and RER.
It is being rebuilt and frankly it is a nice area.
Palais Royal (no e) is less thriving.

Never been to riche Panse but the name sounds great.

Thanks! I have booked the Brittanique with the ability to cancel if necessary. Any recommendations for restaurants, bakeries etc in the area or walking distance would be appreciated.

Opera Richepance used to be Best Western and has a good internet special of free breakfast plus 10 % off with cancellation. Great reviews but completely different ambiance.

Riche Panse means fat belly.
Thé Panse is one of the four stomaches of the cow.
Panse caillette estomac and ?

Panse passes for stomach in familiar French.

T'as une grosse Panse : you are quite fat mate.

I'll come with some recs.

Thanks! Maybe that's why they throw in free breakfast!
